Tangle, a collaborative installation by Melissa Gill and Mary Robinson in 2000, Bloomington Indiana.
A 14' square, 11' tall room built from layers of translucent white drafting paper.
The artists drew and painted on all interior and exterior surfaces, and suspended soft sculptures on the interior.

The Book of Self Knowledge, 1999, an installation inspired by a 19th century moralistic text of the same title.
All pages were removed, the original information painted over in white.
The whited-out book pages, and additional pieces of paper created during the painting process
covered three walls of an enclosed space in the gallery.
The remaining cover and spine were made into a box to hold library pencils.
Viewers were invited to interact with the piece by writing their own self knowledge onto the pages.

Self Portrait Video, collaboration with Haran Kim, 2000.
These are two still images from a video I made as a self portrait.
I asked a colleague to paint over my face and background
so that I would gradually "disappear" into a larger scene.
These images show the very end of the process, after the painting was complete.
